We believe Victoria is the best city in the best country in the world.
Here are some statistics:
- Canada has been named the best country in the world by theUnited Nations more times than any other country.
- In general, Canadians enjoy a high quality of life with a stable democratic government and a safe, pluralistic society.
- Canada’s 2001-2006 growth is pegged at +5.4%, the highest of the G8 countries, including the USA. Growth in Victoria and surrounding municipalities (Capital Regional District, or CRD) has been a solid 6% during the same period, and is expected to continue at this strong rate.
- Although housing prices in Victoria are some of the highest in the country, the averages are still much lower than other desirable cities of the world. The median house price in the CRD was $592,874 in 2008, while the average price of a detached home in London, England is a comparable $1,268,971.80 Cdn; in San Francisco it is $823,047.48 Cdn; and $745,699.06 Cdn for an apartment in Tokyo. With this in mind, we believe the only place for housing prices in Victoria to go is up, and to continue to rise as more and more people realize the tremendous value in this special region.
